Roebling Museum wouldn’t be able to do what it does without our strong group of dedicated volunteers. We have many different opportunities for volunteering and are also willing to match your interests with our needs on a case-by-case basis. If you don’t see a role that interests you here, be in touch with staff who will see if we can come up with a better fit.

When you sit behind the front desk, you are the public face of the museum! This role includes greeting all visitors, explaining the layout of the museum and property, accepting admission and gift shop sales, as well as addressing guests’ questions and concerns. (On slow days, the front desk is a relaxing place to read a book too!)

Tour guides and program leaders get to share the Roebling story with the public. Beyond meeting students and visitors from all over the world, in this role volunteers share exhibit information in the galleries, tell their favorite stories, and have the opportunity to lead tours of the Millyard and company town, too.

ARCHIVES & COLLECTIONS

Archives and collections volunteers get to go behind the scenes and work closely with our archivist. Here, volunteers are taught to organize, research, catalog, and properly house the museum’s collection including art, newspapers, photographs, ephemera, sculptures, and objects of all sizes!
